The Royal Coachman fly pattern is a Classic.
The Royal Coachman: This is an old standby for most fly fisherman. It differs from the Royal Wulff by the lighter feather wings, and the golden pheasant tail. These are by no means realistic flies, but trout seem to like them. They do a pretty good job of representing several types of insects. These are best used when there is no obvious hatch taking place.
