Tying a Blood Knot is Easy (if you know this Trick)
For some people tying the blood knot can be very frustrating and time consuming. Follow this trick and you will be tying the blood knot in under 10 seconds in no time flat.
The key is to use your thumb or one of your fingers to make the opening between all of your wraps. Watch the video below and you will be tying this knot with record speed after just a little practice.
This knot is by far my favorite for connecting two lines of similar size together. I find this knot to be stronger and has a thinner profile than the surgeons loop. The fatter your completed knot is the more likely that you will encounter a tangle at that point. The thinner profile blood knot will also slide through the guides of your fly fishing rod much more easily than many knots will.
